Advantra is hiring an experienced SAP BW for HANA Consultant to support enterprise-scale data warehousing, modeling, and analytics solutions for a major financial services client. The role involves hands-on work with SAP BW/4HANA, HANA modeling, and performance optimization to drive business insights and data transformation initiatives.
About the role
You will design, develop, and optimize end-to-end data models and pipelines in SAP HANA and BW/4HANA environments. The role requires strong technical depth in HANA modeling, ETL development, SQL scripting, and BW migration, along with an understanding of Agile methodologies and enterprise data practices.
Responsibilities
Design and develop SAP HANA models (Attribute, Analytic, and Calculation views) using graphical and SQL-based modeling.
Develop and optimize data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using BW/4HANA, HANA SDI/SDA, and SAP Data Services.
Perform native HANA development using SQL Script, stored procedures, and table functions.
Execute performance tuning and optimization for complex HANA models and queries.
Support BW on HANA to BW/4HANA migration initiatives.
Collaborate with business analysts and functional teams to define data requirements.
Develop reusable data frameworks and best practices for analytics and reporting.
Implement HANA embedded analytics and integration with reporting tools.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning.
Document technical design, data flow diagrams, and deployment procedures.
Core requirements
7+ years of experience designing and maintaining SAP HANA models.
5+ years of hands-on experience with BW/4HANA development and optimization.
Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Strong experience with HANA SDI/SDA and Data Services.
Proficiency in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Experience in HANA embedded analytics.
Familiarity with BW on HANA to BW/4HANA migration projects.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery models.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Knowledge of SAP ABAP and CDS views.
Nice to have
Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or Power BI integration.
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD processes for SAP environments.
Exposure to data governance and metadata management in SAP.
Financial services industry experience.
