**Duties**
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides professional and collaborative care to adult patients under the supervision of a member of the medical staff, in alignment with the healthcare practitioner’s treatment plan, standards of care, and the professional code of ethics.
This role is dedicated to enhancing the health potential of the whole person, ensuring optimal care through the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
The NP or PA demonstrates the ability to delegate appropriately and guide staff in the coordination and delivery of care while assuming accountability for the judicious utilization of resources.
Additionally, this professional fosters positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, patients, and families, exhibiting effective communication and problem-solving skills; they are also attuned to the needs of patients, families, physicians, and coworkers. Personal accountability for the organization's mission and core values is expected.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
- Proactively identify complications and communicate findings.
- Engage in outpatient clinic activities.
- Perform inpatient rounding and consultations.
- Supervise stress testing, including echo, exercise, nuclear, and dobutamine stress tests.
- Oversee tilt table testing.
- Execute all other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- A minimum of two years of experience as an NP or PA in a related field is required, including at least two years of specific outpatient experience in cardiology.
- Candidates should possess experience with stress testing and device interrogations.
- A master’s degree in nursing; graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of a Physician Assistant program is mandatory.
- An unrestricted Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant License in Colorado (DORA) is required.
- A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license is necessary.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications, issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), must be held prior to the start date.
**Skills**
- Proficient in general healthcare and cardiovascular patient assessment and examination techniques. - Ability to operate independently.
- Experience in stress testing and device interrogations.
